Appeal for witnesses after man assaulted in West Moors

A MAN in his 50s sustained bruising to his eye and swelling to his head after an assault in West Moors. 

The incident occurred at around 2pm on Wednesday, November 22 in an alleyway off Arnold Close leading to station road, according to Dorset Police. 

It was reported that three young people on bikes asked the victim for money, who did not have any and was subsequently assaulted by one of the male cyclists. 

Bill Nightingall, police sergeant of East Dorset police, said: “This was an unprovoked assault and we are doing all we can to support the victim.

“I am conducting enquiries into what happened and would ask anyone with information about those responsible to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen three young people on bikes acting suspiciously in the area to please get in touch.”
