POLICE seized a 4×4 that had been driven recklessly across a golf course in Fordingbridge on Friday (October 3).
Officers from New Forest Police, supported by Dorset Rural Crime Team, were responding to reports of a 4×4 causing damage to the grounds of a golf course.
A green Suzuki Vitara was soon spotted across the border in Alderholt and the driver was identified.
“The vehicle has now been seized and a male invited in for an interview and statement from aggrieved to be taken,” a police spokesperson said.
A Dorset Police Rural Crime team spokesperson said: “Officers from the team were alerted to the incident from Hampshire and despite the vehicle not being registered or insured to the suspected driver we were able to attend an address and find the offending vehicle.
“The suspected driver has been identified by members of our team and Hampshire will be looking to progress an investigation for criminal damage and driving without insurance.”
