NEW Milton will see 164 new homes built to the north west of the town.
Developer Pennyfarthing Homes purchased the land, comprising the Danes Park development, at the end of February.
The development will deliver a range of one- and two-bed apartments, three-bed bungalows, and two, three, and four-bed homes.
Pennyfarthing first acquired the 25-acre Brockhills Lane site in 2016 after planning promotion successfully secured its inclusion in the New Forest District Council Local Plan in 2020.
A subsequent planning application for 164 homes – of which 50% are affordable – was approved by Dorset Council in February 2024.

The sale of the affordable housing units, which will comprise rented and shared ownership, has also now been completed, to the New Forest District Council, which Pennyfarthing will construct on its behalf.
Councillor Steve Davies, portfolio holder for housing and homelessness at the New Forest District Council, said: “This new development is a wonderful opportunity for our community, providing much-needed housing for local families.
“It’s especially encouraging that nearly half of the site has been allocated for green spaces and recreational areas, enhancing the quality of life for residents.
“With half of the 164 properties being allocated for affordable housing, this development ensures that our residents can continue to have access to high-quality housing in the district, while also fostering a vibrant, healthy environment for all.”
The Brockhills land sale marks a significant step in the broader development strategy of Danes Park, which spans 10 hectares, with nearly half of the site allocated to green spaces and recreational areas with further infrastructure improvements being delivered on and off-site.
Pennyfarthing Homes says it “remains committed” to enhancing the environment and improving road safety through offsite highway upgrades.
Ben Arnold, land and planning director at Pennyfarthing Homes, said: “Securing the land and working with The New Forest District Council for the affordable homes is a key milestone in our commitment to delivering much-needed, high-quality homes in New Milton.
“With 50% of the homes designated as affordable, Danes Park will provide vital housing for residents, young families, and key workers.
“We are proud to be working with The New Forest District Council and to see this project progress to deliver these much-needed market and affordable homes.”
