Warning after reports of counterfeit notes in New Milton and Lymington

POLICE have issued a warning after reports of counterfeit notes being used in New Milton and Lymington.

New Forest Police said that between 10am and 4pm on May 20, an unknown man used or attempted to use counterfeit £50 notes to purchase items at various stores in the two towns.

The man the force would like to speak to is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, with a large build, a dark beard, and a bandage on his left arm.

A police spokesperson said: “We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows his identity, to get in touch with us.

“Also, if you witnessed any of the incidents, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage which could aid our investigation, please contact us.”
