Vandals target West Parley Memorial Hall – damaging fire extinguishers and more

WEST Parley Memorial Hall was targeted by vandals over the weekend.

The venue, in Christchurch Road, was targeted some time between 6.30pm on Saturday (May 25) and 2.30pm the following afternoon.

Damage was caused to fire extinguishers and furnishings in the building, PC Tom Harness of Dorset Police, said.

“This was a despicable and reckless act on a building that was built in memorial to those who gave their lives in World War I,” he added.

“We are doing all we can to identify who was responsible for gaining entry to this building that is well-loved by the local community.

“I would like to make a direct appeal to the offenders to do the right thing and come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area.”
