Two charged with theft from Red Lion in Sturminster Marshall

TWO people have been charged in connection with the alleged theft of food outside an East Dorset pub.

Containers of rapeseed oil and a delivery of frozen fish are alleged to have been taken from outside the Red Lion Inn, in Church Street, Sturminster Marshall, some time between 7.15am and 8.30am on Tuesday, January 30.

Police said a man and a woman, who appeared to be dressed as delivery drivers, were being sought in connection with the theft.

Now, following enquiries, a spokesperson confirmed a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Edmonton in London, have been arrested and charged with theft.

They are due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (February 22).
