A TV chef will host a cooking demo and talks at this year’s Wimborne Folk Festival in a bid to raise awareness of food poverty.
Rosemary Shrager’s appearance at Wimborne Folk Festival at Wimborne Community Garden, School Lane on June 7, marks a brief pause in her ‘Two Wheels for Meals’ challenge.
This challenge will see Rosemary embark on a gruelling 450-mile cycle ride from Land’s End in western Cornwall to the White Cliffs of Dover in east Kent to help raise funds and awareness for food poverty charities.
All monies raised through the sale of items from the food, drinks and plant stands at the cooking demonstration will be donated to the Two Wheels for Meals challenge, which is being organised by Hendy Foundation, the independent charity arm of the Hendy Group car dealer business.
Guests are welcome to enjoy food, entertainment and a plant sale when the garden opens at 2pm, with the demonstration starting at 4pm.

Rosemary will focus on how to create delicious yet affordable store-cupboard meals, and those joining the sessions will be able to sample the dishes prepared and donate towards Two Wheels for Meals.
74-year-old Rosemary hopes her mighty Two Wheels for Meals challenge will raise at least £100,000 for Hendy Foundation, which will allocate 100% of all monies raised to local food poverty and food welfare charities across the south of England.
Rosemary will start her epic two-wheel expedition on June 1 at Land’s End in Cornwall and aims to finish at The White Cliffs of Dover by June 18.
