AUGUST will see the return of the lunchtime organ recitals in Wimborne Minster.
The first event is set to take place on Monday (August 4) where Simon Morley a former assistant organist at the Minster will give a recital.
Simon is now organist and director of music at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hyde Park, Tampa, Florida, USA.
On Monday, August 11, William Ings who is director of music at Canford School will give the second recital.
He will be followed by Colin Davey, organist and director of the choirs at The Minster on August 18.
Finally, on August Bank Holiday Monday (August 25), the recital will be given by Jeremy Blandford who lives in Norway and is a teacher in the local cultural schools in Lofoten.
Admission is free to all the recitals with a retiring collection in aid of the Wimborne Minster Musical Heritage Trust.

Also in August will be the return of the Laudemus Choir lead by former King’s Singer, acclaimed choral director and composer, Jeremy Jackman.
They will sing Choral Evensong at churches across Dorset from August 12 to 16 including in Wimborne Minster on August 16.
The group has its roots in the Wimborne Arts Festival of 1991.
The choir has returned each year since then to bring cathedral-style Evensong to country churches across Dorset. Operating as an annual summer course, singers come from all over the UK and some from overseas.
The choir is accompanied for the week by Dorset-born organist Sam Hanson, who pursues a busy freelance career as conductor, accompanist and composer in both Dorset and London.
Each service commences at 6pm and all are welcome.
Finally, another special in August will be the visit of the Laus Deo choir and they will sing Choral Evensong at 6pm from August 21 to 23 and sing at the services in the Minster on August 24.
