Roadworks across Dorset in May and June announced: Full list

ROADS in Wimborne, Gillingham, Sturminster Newton and Dorchester will be among a host to be closed during repairs over the next two months.

Dorset Council has revealed a host of works set to take place throughout May and June on minor routes in the county.

The roads have extensive defects including uneven surfaces, sunken areas, potholes and cracking.

Repairs known as in-situ recycling are now set to be carried out, reusing the existing road materials to repair the structure of the road.

Households and businesses affected are informed by letter in advance of the work, to be carried out by SPL Ltd.

The programme includes some weekend working but no working on Bank Holidays, the council said, with signs on site providing up-to-date information.

Due to the size of the machinery used, roads need to be closed for the work. Closures will be from 7am to 7pm.

When required, diversions will be in place with signs erected.
