Badgers Class at Witchampton C of E First School had a wonderful educational visit to Launceston Farm to enhance our learning in Science and Design Technology, writes Beth Middlebrook.
We began by looking for signs of spring, noticing that the calves had been born and many plants were beginning to bloom.
We collected different petals and leaves to create our own spring bracelets.
We had fun tracking the journey of a wheat seed, seeing it grow in the field before making bread. Launceston Farm is an organic farm and so no pesticides are used.
This meant that there was a wide variety of plants and insects to observe amongst the wheat. We also made our own butter by shaking a container full of double cream.
We were then able to spread our homemade butter on our warm bread and enjoy!
It was the cream on the top of a wonderful morning for all!
