New Milton man disqualified from driving

STUART Barr, 37, from New Milton has been disqualified from driving for 17 months.

The disqualification follows an incident in the town on August 21 where officers stopped him after witnessing him driving along Old Milton Road “in a manner which had caused concern”.

Barr, of no fixed abode, failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when stopped by officers. He then also failed to do so upon his arrival at custody.

“He admitted the offence of failing to provide a specimen for analysis and was sentenced when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on October 21,” a New Forest Police spokesperson said.

“As well as the driving ban, Barr must also pay a £450 fine, £180 surcharge and £85 costs.”
