Motorcyclist left with “life threatening” injuries following crash in Poole

A MAN was taken to hospital following a serious crash between a motorbike and a Jeep in Poole yesterday afternoon (October 29).

The crash between a blue Kawasaki motorbike and a red Jeep Avenger took place just before 4.26pm on the eastbound carriageway of the A3049 Dorset Way prior to the Old Wareham Road roundabout.

Police said the motorbike rider, a 24-year-old man from Poole, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A road closure was in place to enable emergency services to attend the scene.

Dorset Police is now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and I would ask anyone with dashcam footage, who has not spoken with police yet, to please come forward.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or the manner of driving or riding of the vehicles involved prior to the collision.

“I would like to thank the public for their patience while the road closure was in place during a busy time of the day. This was necessary for us to be able to safely attend to the injured person and carry out an examination of the scene.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online, via email at scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, using reference number 55250160294.
