A 43-YEAR-OLD man has died after a crash in Ferndown.
The incident, involving a white Peugeot 308, happened on the A31 at the Ameysford Roundabout at around 8.45pm on Saturday night (February 22).
The driver of the vehicle – a man from West Sussex – was sadly pronounced dead after sustaining serious injuries. His family have been informed.
Road closures were put in place while officers carried out a detailed examination of the scene, police said.
Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Dorset Police Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man at this difficult time and we have specially trained officers supporting them.
“This incident occurred on a very busy stretch of the A31 and I understand there were a number of motorists in the area who may have seen what happened.
“I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any dashcam footage to contact us.
“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience with the road closures while we investigate the scene.”
