Ferndown Lloyds bank branch set to close this year

THE Lloyds bank branch in Ferndown is set to close later this year.

Lloyds Banking Group, which also includes Halifax and Bank of Scotland, announced plans to shut 136 more high street branches across the UK as part of cost-cutting measures.

Unfortunately for residents in Ferndown, this includes the bank on Victoria Road, which is set to close its doors on November 17.

A spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group said the move comes as more people have transitioned to doing their banking online.

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: “Over 20 million customers are using our apps for on-demand access to their money and customers have more choice and flexibility than ever for their day-to-day banking.

“Alongside our apps, customers can also use telephone banking, visit a community banker, or use any Halifax, Lloyds or Bank of Scotland branch, giving access to many more branches. Customers can also do their everyday banking at over 11,000 branches of the Post Office or in a banking hub.”

All staff at the affected branches will be offered a role at another branch or in another part of their business, according to Lloyds.

They closed Kinson and told us to use Winton and Ferndown now they are closing Ferndown . Shame on you Lloyds not everyone wants to do online banking. The postoffice is also not happy and I have heard them complain to customers that they are Not a bank. You are happy to take your bonuses but don’t give good service. You are a disgrace. Just how far do you expect people to travel to use a bank. You don’t care about your customer at all because you clearly don’t listen to them what a joke.

I am in shock I cannot believe another local Lloyds is closing. When kinson closed we were told to use Ferndown or Winton. Now you are closing Ferndown. Do you not listen to your customers?? We do not all want to do on line banking and we shouldn’t be forced into it.The post office are not happy doing your work I have heard them complain many times. Tesco has stopped doing cashback and their cash machine is always out of money. You have a duty to your customers but you care more about profit than customers. You are a total disgrace. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I support vulnerable adults (mental health, learning disabilities) and some can’t access online banking, they need a branch to go in and talk to someone. I’m very sad that yet another branch is closing. I already have to drive 30 mins to my nearest branch (different bank).

If this happens I will need to find another way of banking as I was told Last year this wouldn’t be happening, now where can I go to do my banking? I guess I will need to be using the Nationwide Bank next door as I refuse to use unsafe internet banking.
