FIREFIGHTERS were called out to reports of a reports of a heath fire at the Bourne Valley Nature Reserve in Poole at midnight yesterday (July 3) which they believe were started deliberately.
On arrival firefighters found two areas of heath on fire, one close to some houses and another under a high voltage electricity pylon.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: “Crews worked quickly to protect the properties at risk and extinguish these fires, thankfully no-one was hurt.

“We believe these fires were started deliberately, you can see from these images shared with us, the fire was extremely close to some houses.
“If you’re visiting any heathland or open spaces this summer, please keep your eyes peeled and call 999 if you see a fire.
“You can also help by reporting any antisocial behaviour on the heath to the police on 101.”
