Dawn raids sees four arrested and suspected stolen tools and weapons seized in New Forest vehicle crime crackdown

FOUR men from the New Forest have been arrested as police crackdown on vehicle crime in the area.

Weapons, including prohibited knives, as well as suspected stolen tools, were seized by police as part of the investigation that saw two men arrested on suspicion of participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group.

Officers from Hampshire Police conducted dawn raids at two addresses in Nutshalling Close in Calmore, and Burnt House Lane in Bransgore yesterday (January 8) at around 6am.

A 48-year-old man at the Burnt House property was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle/conspiracy to steal from a motor vehicle/conspiracy to commit a burglary with intent to steal/conspiracy to receive stolen goods and participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group.

A 21-year-old from Bransgore at the Nutshalling Close address was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle/conspiracy to steal from a motor vehicle/conspiracy to commit a burglary with intent to steal/conspiracy to receive stolen goods and participation in the criminal activities of an organised crime group.

A 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Bransgore, were also arrested at the Nutshalling Close address on suspicion of conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle/conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal and conspiracy to receive stolen goods.

All four men are in police custody.

“Among the items also seized were mobile phones, suspected stolen tools and weapons – prohibited knives,” a Hampshire Police spokesperson said.

“Among those involved in the operation were officers from New Forest priority crime team, Ringwood, Fordingbridge and Waterside neighbourhood policing teams, the dog support unit, and district policing teams.”
