Car reportedly crashed into road sign in East Dorset before driving off

A CAR that crashed into a road sign next to a BP garage in East Dorset failed to stop at the scene, police have said.

A blue BMW reportedly crashed with a road sign on the A31 at St Leonards on Saturday, March 1 at around 7.44pm.

Police say the driver left the scene.

Dorset Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

PC Steve Hall, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge anyone who saw the collision or a blue BMW travelling in the area on the evening of Saturday 1 March 2025 to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.”
