Body found in search for missing Poole man

POLICE who have been searching for a missing Poole man have found a body.

50-year-old Jason was first reported missing at 11pm on Monday (June 2) after a cabin cruiser boat that he was on ran aground, causing him to enter the water to try and free it.

Specialist police divers found a body in the water in the area of Rockley Harbour just after 9.30pm last night (June 3).

Police said that while formal identification has not yet taken place, it is believed to be Jason, and officers have informed the family.

They added that the death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified.

Chief Inspector Darren Harris of Dorset Police said, “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of Jason at this extremely difficult time.

“I would like to thank all those involved in the search efforts to locate him, including HM Coastguard, the RNLI, Wessex Search and Rescue, Devon & Cornwall Police dive team as well as a large number of our officers and staff.”
