Blooming good time at care home to mark flower day

RESIDENTS at a St Leonards care home had a blooming marvellous time on International Flower Day.

The occasion, on Friday (January 19), was marked at Moors Manor with flower-based activities throughout the day, including arranging and sharing knowledge.

International Flower Day promotes the psychological boost that flowers can give to people.

Gemma Chalkley, general manager at Moors Manor, said: “Our garden is a much-loved space, residents really enjoy looking after the plants and flowers and watching them grow and change through the seasons.

“We don’t have many flowers at the moment so our residents very much enjoying the escapism of virtually visiting some of the most famous gardens in the world.”

Moors Manor Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare and provides residential care, dementia care and respite care.
